This is the first game that I remember seeing. I was 9 years old. The Indians took a 10-6 lead going into the bottom of the ninth. I remember Joe DiMaggio hitting a HR, a towering shot down the left field line. Then I remember Bob Feller, as a reliever, striking out PH Sherman Lollar to end the game with the tying and winning runs on base. I checked out the details via the box score. With Ed Klieman pitching for the Tribe he struck the first two batters, Tommy Henrich and John Lindell, Then came the DiMaggio HR. Next Gus Niarhos singled and Billy Johnson walked. Feller came in to relieve and George McQuinn singled to load the bases. Rizzuto walked making the score 10-8. Then Lollar pinch-hit for P Red Embree and struck out. I can still see it now, the last pitch was low and away and Lollar never came close to hitting it. Lollar was a RH batter facing the RH Feller so I guess the Yankees were out of LH batters.
