I was in attendance at this game as a 10 year old. I will never forget it. This is the game where Drysdale hit Freddie Patek with a pitch late in the game. It was an inside fastball that Freddie couldn't react to quick enough and it hit him on his left wrist. I swear to God I thought it killed him. Freddie went down like somebody shot him. The most sickening part of it was the SOUND. It wasn't a muffled sound at all, but it sounded like the crack of the bat you hear when a hitter makes good contact off a hard fastball. As per usual back in the day, Drysdale showed no concern or remorse for what happened, and just took the ball back and walked back to the mound while Freddie was being looked at by the trainer. Amazingly, Freddie got up and took first base wirh what turned out to be a broken wrist. Drysdale was one of the group of hard-nose pitdhers that used intimidation agqinst hitters (eg. Gibson, Seaver).
