Top 2 Zimmerman hits a ball on the ground towards short. Fletcher scoops it up and throws to first for the out.

Bottom 1 Murray hits a line drive into center field. Leach settles under the ball and makes the catch for the out.

Bottom 1 Merkle hits a line drive into center field, out of the reach of Leach who is chasing the ball. Merkle reaches third base with a triple. Doyle scores.
